On my 21st birthday I decided to treat myself to something I had always wanted but never could justify purchasing – a YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick (£23.50) and Gloss Pur lip gloss (£22) – (prices from Boots). Since this, I have never looked back. They are now both my firm favorites and I use them on special occasions. The lipstick is soft and silky, with a glorious sweet scent. It won’t stick to your lips and if you are drinking and eating it will need re-applying every few hours. I teamed the lipstick with the gloss (double whamy) and this really finishes off the look making your lips look bigger with a glossy glass like finish. What I love about the lip gloss is that it really adds to the lipstick and enhances the colour.
The shade of lipstick I chose is Beige Charnel (Nude beige) and the Gloss Pur is shade 7. I had trouble tracking down the lip gloss as most department stores had sold out – I soon realized this shade is a popular choice, game on ladies.
The gloss is more of a bright pink colour, but when this is teamed with the lipstick which is slightly darker, my lips look a subtle nude pink shade. The colour isn’t in your face but looks really nice with a tan and dark hair. This lipstick and lip gloss come highly recommended, not only are they stunning and work well together – they are work’s of art within themselves with such beautiful packaging.
