Chatsworth house based in Derby is one of my favourite places to visit during the summer months. A gorgeous house set in rolling fields and beautiful gardens, there’s no wonder it’s a popular summer haunt. A few week ago Chatsworth send a promotional flyer for a luminaire night where they would be lighting the house with candles, and gardens with lavish lighting displays; instantly intrigued as to what the house would look like lit up at night, I booked tickets without haste.
Unsure what to expect, as soon as we could see the house all lit up in an array of colours the excitement started to grow. Luckily the weather held out perfectly (despite the huge storm warning!), and we wandered round in awe at the beautiful garden lights.
The house was also beautifully lit with candles (although, not real ones), and overall the luminaire night was a huge hit. If you get chance to visit Chatsworth I strongly recommend it, there’s lots to see and do – even in the bitter cold!
Please forgive the lack of quality in the photos, lugging the SLR around didn’t bode well with me, and instead the iPhone came out to take a few snaps. Enjoy!
