It’s that time of year again – you’re mum’s birthday. She already has all the material goods she needs and this year I decided to take my mum on a spa day. She had never been to a spa before, and me only once so I thought I would treat the both of us. Whilst costing a small fortune it was an experience for us both and I must admit a great day. We headed down to Owl Day Spa. Problem 1. My car engine light came on – I turned around in a panic (cars scare me. I have never broke down and touch wood I never will) and took my mums car instead. Finally – we made it.
The spa is located – simply put, in the middle of nowhere. This only adds to the experience, an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The spa is only small, it doesn’t have a swimming pool or steam rooms for the masses like Eden Hall or Centre Parcs. This is reflected in the price however – costing £80 per person for a one hour massage and 30 minutes for the ‘Pig in mud experience’. The service was great and my mum had a fantastic day, I would recommend the Owl Day Spa – whilst you do compromise swimming, you can go in the hot tub which is fantastic in the cold weather (and even better when you have it to yourselves!). Here are some pictures of the fantastic day I hope to be doing all over again in the near future.
